JR MISS GILA RIVER 2026-2027

My name is Aubrey Gaitan. I am a 17-year-old proudly representing my community in District 6, Gila River Indian Community. I am the daughter of Margery Gaitan and Fernando Gaitan, the youngest of 7, including my half-siblings for Nando, Sabrina, Samantha, Andrew, and Tirzah, as well as my full brother Matthew. My maternal grandparents are Wanda Lee Arbizu and Luis C. Arbizu; my paternal grandparents are Fernando Sr. and Stella Arenivar. I am currently a senior at Metro Tech High School, where I partake in multiple extracurricular activities such as Student Government. BSU (also known as the Black Student Union), MEChA, basketball, and softball, and I'm also a student in the Hoop of Learning program, taking courses at Phoenix College while also taking dual enrollment classes at Metro Tech. I am also enrolled in the automotive technology program here at my school, where I continue to push and motivate myself for my future career in aerospace or automotive engineering. In addition to my academics and extracurricular activities, I am a crew leader at AMC down in Westgate, Glendale, Arizona, where I continue to learn to grow as a leader, build responsibility, critical thinking, and a stronger work ethic.
